SHELBURNE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — UPDATE: Quick action and good fortune kept the fire at Gould farm’s dairy barn in Shelburne from becoming overwhelming. On Sunday, multiple reports of smoke and flames came in, visible from Route 2. Firefighters had been completing training at the time and were able to respond swiftly to the location, less than a mile from the station, and found a loader inside the barn on fire. They quickly knocked it down and canceled the second alarm. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A fire broke out at a farm on Cooper Lane in Shelburne Sunday evening. Upon arrival, crews found a tractor on fire inside a barn. Shortly after striking the second alarm to pull in additional assistance, they were able to knock down the tractor fire. No reports of injuries to people or animals on the farm.
