(Northfield, MA) — The superintendent of the Pioneer Regional School District is calling for a one-year delay on a plan to move sixth grade to Pioneer Regional. Superintendent Jonathan Scagel has asked School Committee members to reconsider a recent vote to move sixth-graders from the two elementary schools to Pioneer Valley Regional School in the fall of 2021. Scagel says the delays would give the district additional time to gather public input on the change.
