(Amherst, MA) A 35 year old man is being held at the Hampshire County House of Correction stemming from an alleged kidnapping of a 20 month old baby in Amherst. Amherst Police responded to a residence on Spring Street early Saturday morning after the suspect, Jimmy Lee Sanchez, was located on the second floor of the residence attempting to leave with the child. Sanchez will be arraigned Monday and is charged with Breaking and Entering, Larceny from a Building, Assault and Battery, Attempt to Commit a Crime with Kidnapping, and Larceny under $1,200.
