On March 31, 2020 Governor Charlie Baker announced an extension of non essential business closures in the State of Massachusetts through May 4. This extension includes hotels, motels, and Airbnb. Regarding travel during the coronavirus crisis, Governor Baker urged residents to “have some sense” and stay at home. Local authorities will have the ability to shut down Airbnb facilities in the state should they find them. In addition, Baker explained the decision to close recreational marijuana facilities, arguing that the facilities would draw traffic from other states and impede the effort to slow the spread of Covid-19. The new Extension Order can be found here.
