(Boston, MA) — Hollywood may soon be spending more time in Massachusetts. An amendment has been added to the House version of the state budget to make the commonwealth’s film tax credit permanent. The tax provides a financial incentive to movie makers to film in Massachusetts but is set to expire on January 1, 2023. Whether or not to extend the credit has been a source of much public debate on Beacon Hill over the last few years.
