(Greenfield, MA) — There will be no school-related capital projects in next year’s Greenfield operating budget. Greenfield Mayor Roxann Wedegartner told the City Council’s Ways and Means Committee this week that the reason no projects are being brought forward is because previous School Superintendent Jordana Harper never spent the capital money approved by the council in the previous two budget cycles. Wedegartner says it is unclear why the money was never spent, but city Budget Director Liz Gilman says the authorizations remain in place, and will be for the next ten years unless the money is reprogrammed.
