Montague, MA) — Montague residents appear to strongly support their police department. That will be among the findings in a report set to be presented to the Montague Selectboard tonight. The town’s “Police Engagement Advisory Committee” recently completed a town-wide survey on the police department’s operations, and has incorporated that data into a report which makes several recommendations on how to improve police operations. One such way would be for the department to engage the services of a “mental health professional” to assist police when responding to certain calls where such a service is needed.
