(Greenfield, MA) — The city of Greenfield will NOT be moving forward with a series of capital improvements to its police headquarters. The Greenfield City Council last night failed to generate the two-thirds majority needed to appropriate the $1.35 million dollars necessary to do the work. Some councilors still did not feel that the proposal lacked enough detail to warrant approval. The measure did garner seven votes, two shy of the necessary two-thirds threshold. The defeat means the proposal cannot be brought back for at least nine months.
