(Sunderland, MA) — Today is the one-year anniversary of the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis Police officers. In response, a group of residents from Deerfield and Sunderland have scheduled a march and vigil for later today. The group will meet at the Sunderland Library at 4:30 and march over the Sunderland Bridge to the Deerfield side at the base of Mount Sugarloaf. Organizers say the vigil will not only honor Floyd, but all people of color who have been victims of police violence.
