(Shelburne Falls, MA) Peter Toomey, age 51 of Northampton, has been identified as the suspect in the fatal crash that killed a 45 year old woman from Shelburne Falls around 6:30am on Tuesday morning. Toomey is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, negligent motor vehicle homicide, and failure to stay in marked lanes. Toomey will be arraigned in Greenfield District Court today. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and has not been identified. The crash remains under investigation at this time and cause of death will be determined by the Chief Medical Examiner.
