(Sunderland, MA) — The town of Sunderland is now considered a “safe community.” Annual town meeting voters Saturday approved the designation, which precludes the police department from acting as de facto enforcement agents for federal immigration officials. Voters approved all 24 warrant articles, including a proposal to have Sunderland join the Pioneer Valley Mosquito Control District.
