(Greenfield, MA) — Fans of a popular local restaurant flooded Greenfield’s Court Square Sunday in honor of its 60th anniversary. Large crowds braved the weather and turned out to celebrate six decades of Village Pizza operating on Bank Row. The event featured vendors, local businesses, and community organizations, as well as a pizza eating contest. It also doubled as a fundraiser for the Food Bank of Western Mass and the Shriners Hospital.

In a proclamation dated July 7, Mayor Roxann Wedegartner declared July 11, 2021 to be “Village Pizza Day” in the City of Greenfield. Wedegartner cited the quality of the food, length of time Village Pizza has been in business, and popularity with local residents as the chief reasons the day would be declared to be “Village Pizza Day.”
