The state is awarding grants totaling over 345-thousand dollars to 40 cities and towns. The money will be used for new equipment, technology, training and planning for first responders. The Ashfield Fire Department has been awarded 16-thousand 500 dollars, while the Shelburne Fire and Rowe Police departments will receive just shy of 10-thousand dollars each.
