(Montague, MA) — The town of Montague has joined neighboring Orange in declaring a state of emergency as crews work to clean up the damage caused by this weekend’s heavy rains. The deluge caused washout conditions and triggered evacuations and power outages in downtown Millers Falls, and damaged the foundation of at least one house in that village. Residents are being asked to stay away from affected areas. The State of Emergency will remain in effect until further notice, according to town officials.
