(Greenfield, MA) — The Greenfield Police Department has a new K-9 officer. “Niko” is a 1½-year-old German Shepherd whose costs were donated by the Van Epps family. He is the department’s first K-9 in about five years. Officer Patrick Merrigan will partner up with Niko, whose primary roles will be search and rescue and tracking.
