(Greenfield, MA) — The COVID 19 Delta variant will not prevent the return of one of Franklin County’s most cherished pre-fall traditions. That from Franklin County Agricultural Society President Michael Nelson, who said the Franklin County Fair will be held the weekend of September 9-12 despite the recent uptick in COVID 19 cases.
“We will continue to review guidance on a daily basis to ensure a safe event,” Nelson said. “But it is unlikely we will cancel unless forced to do so by government order.”
Last year’s fair had to be cancelled for the first time in its history because of COVID. Nelson says he hopes the recent increase in Delta cases does not end up impacting this year’s attendance.
“We understand that some people may not be comfortable attending this year and we certainly respect that choice,” Nelson said. “For those who can join us, we are excited to welcome you back to the Fairgrounds for plenty of fun and entertainment.”
