Deerfield Won’t Be Getting A Dollar General Store After All

(Deerfield, MA) — Dollar General will NOT be building a new store on Routes 5 and 10 in Deerfield. The parent company of Dollar General informed the town early Thursday morning that it is abandoning its plan to construct a new store at the intersection of Routes 5 and 10 and Mill Village Road. The proposed development was widely opposed by a number of town residents, but was ultimately derailed because the site chosen by Dollar General was found to contain wetlands.
