(Greenfield, MA) — A Greenfield man has been sentenced to 2 ½ years in a house of correction after admitting to what is his 5th drunk driving offense. Herbert Thurber of Myrtle Street, entered a guilty plea this week in Greenfield District Court. The 51-year-old Thurber was arrested in April while parked in the lot of an area private school. Police allegedly found open liquor bottles in Thurber’s van and he had a blood alcohol content of point-22 at the time of his arrest. The legal limit is point-08.
