(undated) — Drivers around the area can expect to face some extra challenges going into this final weekend of August. A number of road projects are expected tro impact traffic flow, particularly in southern Franklin and northern Hampshire counties. In Deerfield, the southern end of Routes 5 and 10 has seen traffic reduced to one lane as the state installs new concrete lane barriers. An ongoing upgrade of the Coolidge Bridge in Northampton is expected to impact traffic flows along Route 9, as is the added traffic flow caused by move-in weekend at UMass-Amherst. In addition, a large traffic influx is expected this weekend in Greenfield for the now-sold out Green River Festival at the Franklin County Fairgrounds.
