(Montague, MA) — The field is set for a special election to fill an empty seat on the Montague Selectboard. The vacancy was created by the recent departure of Selectman Michael Nelson, who resigned with just under two years left on his current term. Nelson’s replacement will be chosen in a special election later this month. Four candidates will be on the ballot–former Selectman Mark Fairbrother, town meeting member and former town building inspector David Jensen, and political newcomers Matt Lord of Montague Center and Joanne Boody of Millers Falls. The top vote getter wins the seat. The special election will take place September 21st, with polls open noon to 7.
