(Greenfield, MA) — Franklin County residents are mourning the death this week of a longtime area journalist. Ralph Gordon Senior passed away this week at the age of 86 after a period of declining health. Gordon was a long-time reporter for the Springfield Republican and was the author of the column “Never A Bad Day,” which featured his observations on life in Franklin County. In his later years, Gordon served on a number of boards and organizations in town, mostly related to historical preservation and the media. Funeral services, which are being handled by the McCarthy Funeral Home, have not yet been announced.
