(undated) — Massachusetts officials say yesterday was the single-largest 24-hour period for COVID 19 infections since early spring. A total of 2,096 new COVID-19 cases were reported Thursday, the first 2,000-plus day of infections reported since mid-April. The state also reported 18 confirmed COVID-19 deaths in the same period Thursday. The positivity rate for Massachusetts rose slightly to 2.48%.
