(Northfield, MA) — A Franklin County Elementary School is one of five which have been selected this week for recognition by the federal government. The Northfield Elementary School has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2021 by U.S. Department of Education. The awards were announced yesterday by federal Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, in recognition of each school’s progress in closing the achievement gap among certain student subgroups. Northfield is the only school in Western Mass to be so honored.
