(Greenfield, MA)  — Greenfield’s efforts to build a new skateboard park just took a giant leap forward. The Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs has announced that Greenfield has been awarded a $400,000 Parkland Acquisitions and Renovations for Communities–or PARC–grant to help transform a Chapman Street parking area into a new skate park.

“This project is the direct result of unwavering community dedication and involvement on many levels” said Greenfield Mayor Roxann Wedegartner. “This skate park will provide our children with an opportunity for growth, skill development, and socialization in a park they will enjoy for years to come.”

The grant is part of a nearly $11 million funding package released by the Baker Administration as part of Climate Week in Massachusetts.
