(Deerfield, MA) — The search continues for a new temporary home for the South County Senior Center. The center’s Board of Oversight met this week and has determined that a full environmental cleanup of the current senior center building would be too expensive to complete. A recent study of the South Deerfield property discovered lead paint, asbestos and mold, among other problems. The board plans to meet again later this fall to consider alternate temporary sites.
