Popular social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram were rendered inaccessible for much of Monday because of an as-yet-to-be identified technical problem. The outage came one day after a Facebook employee appeared on the CBS News Magazine “60 Minutes” to detail certain security issues at the social media site. Facebook access was restored at about six last night.
