(undated) — The nation’s highest court says it will NOT hear an appeal of Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker’s emergency orders related to the COVID crisis. The United States Supreme Court has decided against hearing an appeal of a ruling that Baker did not overstep his authority when he ordered businesses to close and limited public gatherings in an effort to control the coronavirus early in the pandemic. The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court rejected the appeal in December. The federal high court rejected the case without further comment.
