(Greenfield, MA) — Should the former Greenfield Fire Station building be preserved instead of demolished? That is expected to be one of the questions raised at today’s Historical Commission public hearing at the John Zon Community Center. A number of residents are expected to argue that the building, once deemed by the state to be “historically significant,” should be preserved. Many of those same residents are also opponents of a plan to build a new public library on the site where the old firehouse currently sits. Today’s hearing begins at 5pm at the Zon Center.
