Combined Sources’
(Greenfield, MA) — Business owners who have not been in compliance with the city’s plastic bag ban ordinance are being put on notice. The Greenfield Board of Health has indicated that it will begin enforcing that ordinance now that the commonwealth has lifted the state of emergency related to the COVID pandemic. The ordinance was temporarily lifted after the state banned the use of reusable bags in grocery stores during the pandemic. The city had granted a grace period for business owners to comply with the ban’s return. That grace period is ending, but can be extended if owners apply for variance.
