(Amherst, MA) — Amherst voters have agreed to support a $36 million dollar upgrade of Jones Library. The Amherst Town Council has voted to move forward with the project, which will make the building handicapped accessible and will repair the HVAC, among other improvements. Part of the project is slated to be funded by a state library construction grant. Voters approved a ballot question supporting the project with 65 percent of the vote in Tuesday’s election.
