(Northampton, MA) — A number of Western Mass. cities will be getting new mayors next year. In Northampton, City Council President Gina Louise-Sciarra handily defeated businessman Marc Warner, taking just under 70 percent of the vote. Holyoke has elected its first Latino mayor in its history with Joshua Garcia’s victory over City Councilor Mike Sullivan. And in Westfield, former police officer Michael McCabe beat incumbent Don Humason in a rematch of their race two years ago. Incumbent mayors William Sapelli of Agawam and Nicole Lachapelle easily won re-election. For Lachapelle, it will be her first four year term.
