(Northampton, MA) — Property taxes are about to go up in the city of Northampton. The city council recently approved a single tax rate of $17.89 per $1,000 dollars of valuation. That will translate into an average property tax increase of just under nine percent. A budget-balancing Proposition 2 ½ override approved in 2020 is also expected to begin impacting the city’s tax rate this coming fiscal year.
