(Northampton, MA) — The Northampton School Committee is considering imposing a vaccine mandate for students involved in extracurricular activities. The committee held off on making a final vote on the matter at this week’s meeting, and instead asked the Superintendent’s Health Advisory Committee to draft a new policy related to health care equity. Some feel the proposed vaccination mandate is inconsistent with existing state law, which clearly spells out which vaccines are required for students entering school.
