(Greenfield, MA) — The ongoing social and behavioral problems at Greenfield High School could have long term financial implications for the entire district. A number of parents who spoke at Wednesday night’s school committee meeting suggested that the constant fighting and unrest between students has created an unsafe situation which may lead them to leave for another district via School Choice. That would be especially bad news for Greenfield, which already posts a school choice funding gap of close to $2 million dollars. School Committee members and the administration have pledged to try and take steps to quell the violence which has led to multiple shelter in place orders and ;police responses over the last two weeks.
