(undated) — Drug overdose deaths are apparently on the rise in Massachusetts. Numbers released at a Wednesday Public Health Council meeting indicate that OD deaths in Massachusetts this year are up about one percent over the same period in 2020. Governor Baker said in a statement that “the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated substance misuse not only in Massachusetts, but across the country,” where over 90,000 people died from overdoses in just the last year alone.
