(Hadley, MA) The alleged shooter in an incident last August at the Walmart in Hadley where two teenagers were left with serious injuries was arraigned yesterday in Hampshire Superior Court. Wilmer Alvarez-Vargas of Chicopee was charged with two counts of armed assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, unlawful possession of a firearm; unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. A dangerousness hearing was set for November 23.
Charges against the co-defendant Keyla Fernandez have been dismissed while the two victims Juan Hernandez and Jeruan Matos Colon have been charged. Hernandez was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. Matos Colon was charged with possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute and possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute.
