(undated) — The state’s attorney general is pushing for an update of the commonwealth’s hate crime laws. Attorney General Maura Healey says the current law essentially makes no distinction between racist assault cases and ones without a racial component. Healey says incidents of white supremacist propaganda increased 87 percent in Massachusetts last year, one of the highest rates in the nation.
