Greenfield Skate Park Financing Vote Expected This Month

(Greenfield, MA) — The effort to build a new Greenfield skatepark is expected to take a giant step forward this month. The Greenfield City Council is expected to vote this month to appropriate $780,000 dollars for construction of the new park on the site of what is now the Chapman Street municipal parking lot. The council is also expected to vote to change the designation of that lot from parking to recreational open space. No word yet on when construction on the park may begin.
