(Athol, MA) – Cleanup continues in connection with this week’s fuel tanker rollover in Athol. The crash accidentally spilled 6,000 gallons of fuel oil into the Mill River. Crews continue to work, and will for several more days, skimming the remaining fuel from the water, but state environmental officials say the impact of the spill is being felt in neighboring Orange, where fuel has been detected as far west as the Orange dam. No threat to the public has been reported.
