(Greenfield, MA) – The Greenfield City Council has a new president. Precinct 6 Councilor Sheila Gilmour was elected to the position at last night’s organizational meeting. Gilmour defeated Precinct 1 Councilor Ed Jarvis, whose name was also placed in nomination despite not being in attendance. Gilmour came in second in the most recent mayoral election won by Roxann Wedegartner, and was recently elected to another four-year council term.
Succeeding Gilmour as Vice President is Precinct 2 Councilor and former Council President Dan Guin. Precinct 3 Councilor Virginia Desorgher was elected treasurer.
