(Greenfield, MA) The new Greenfield Fire Station will have a fire museum. According to the Greenfield Fire Chief Robert Strahan, the Fire Station Building Committee put the museum back into the new fire station budget. The cost is estimated to be just over $134K. The museum will contain Greenfield Fire Department artifacts that include an old hand pumper and a piece of steel from the World Trade Center. The new fire station, which will be built on Main Street is expected to cost about $15 million. The Greenfield Fire Department is currently housed in a temporary building on Hope Street.
