Staff Report

(Leyden, MA) The town of Leyden will be down to only two selectboard members until the town’s next election in June. Jeffery Neipp, who has served inconsecutive terms on the selectboard, resigned at the end of Monday’s meeting. Neipp was most recently chair of the board. In his resignation letter, Neipp acknowledged that the town of Leyden had been through challenges in recent years and that it was now time for the town to grow and build new friendships. Leyden recently lost its police chief to retirement after a position review and retaining the same person as Leyden’s Emergency Management Director.
