(Greenfield, MA) Despite a tumultuous meeting earlier in the week, the Greenfield School Committee decided last night to lift the mask mandate after a 6-1 vote. In a virtual meeting held March 3, a revised policy was passed by the school committee to leave the decision to wear a mask up to the individual. The committee discussed concerns regarding another resurgence of the virus and the risks of severe illness and death verses other mitigation strategies such as social distance. Pool testing and contact tracing will still take place.
