(Greenfield, MA) — An effort to control the length of debate at Greenfield city council meetings has been shot down. The council rejected a rule change which would have limited council floor debates to three minutes. Proponents of the measure argued that the limit would control councilors from filibustering during debates, which had been a problem in recent years. The council voted 7-5 against the rule change.
