(Franklin County, MA) Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Diana Szynal announced her departure from the Chamber this morning. She will be leaving in late June, three and a half years after she began her work as the Executive Director in December 2018. “I’m looking forward to bringing my knowledge of the entire region to this new position. And I take a deep love of Franklin County with me,” said Szynal.
During her time at the Chamber, Szynal has worked hard to continue longhand traditions like the monthly Chamber breakfasts. She has also started new initiatives like the Franklin County Gift Card program that has over 36 participating businesses and helps keep local money circulating locally.
Additionally, she has moved the Chamber offices to Historic Deerfield where they will be able to re-open the Franklin County Visitor Center, which was located in the Greenfield RMV and closed during COVID-19 restrictions. Amidst her accomplishments, Szynal has encouraged many businesses to join the Chamber and helped them build legislative and economic relationships enabling businesses to grow.
“Diana has done tremendous work for Franklin County and has been a collaborative, compassionate and driven leader,” said Wade Bassett of the Chamber Executive Board. When she moves on from the Chamber, Szynal will be the new President of the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce starting July 5th.
“An unexpected opportunity has come my way, a position that will allow me to continue and expand my work with a tri-county perspective to connect our regions around economic development, workforce development, legislative advocacy and business support,” Szynal added.
