(Boston, MA) Last week the Baker-Polito Administration announced “HireNow,” a new hiring and training employer grant program. Employers would receive $4,000 per employee for training costs, sign-on bonuses, and other needs in order to fill the over 200,000 open job positions across the state.
“Massachusetts’s economic recovery from the pandemic is off and running, but we know there are still persistent workforce challenges that we must address. To boost our local economies, it is critical that we help both for-profit and non-profit employers meet their workforce needs and get more people back to work,” said Lt. Governor Polito at the announcement of “HireNow” last week.
Currently, employment rates are still behind pre-pandemic levels and the “HireNow” will be one of many programs in place addressing hiring challenges and economic growth. To find out more about the program and how to apply, visit mass.gov/hirenow
