(Greenfield, MA) Mayor Roxann Wedegartner has placed the Greenfield Police Chief Robert Haigh Jr. and Lieutenant Todd Dodge on paid administrative leave as of Friday, May 6th. In a phone call with the Mayor, she said she has made this decision based on events that came up during the course of the trial of the lawsuit Patrick Buchanan filed against the Greenfield Police Department and Chief Haigh. However, the events resulting in the leave are “completely unrelated” to the trial.

Mayor Wedegartner is in the process of gathering and reviewing information on these events and will be seeking guidance before making further decisions. In the meantime, Deputy Chief William Gordon will be the acting Police Chief.
