Vehicle On Fire Tuesday Morning On I-91 Southbound Greenfield

(Greenfield, MA) A vehicle fire temporarily closed I-91 Southbound in the Greenfield area between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. When Greenfield Fire Department arrived on scene with Engines 3 and 4, they found a “well involved” vehicle in the passing lane. The crews were able to extinguish the fire, but found no occupants upon searching the vehicle. Later, Massachusetts State Police located the sole occupant after they had walked away from the vehicle and off of I-91. The vehicle was towed by Koch’s Towing.
