(Greenfield, MA) Gas prices have dropped nationally this weekend and Greenfield followed in the pattern with gas prices coming down below four dollars in some locations.
The average area price for fuel is $4.217 per gallon according to AAA Northeast, as of Monday morning. That is down 23 cents from last week at $4.45, but still up $1.29 from this time last year when gas cost $2.93 per gallon.
Home heating oil prices have also increased significantly from last year. Oil now averages around $5 per gallon in Massachusetts, around double what it was last year even though the price has dropped around 53 cents last month.
