(Boston, MA) The Massachusetts Primary Election Day is coming up on September 6th, but over 160,000 voters have already sent in their ballots during early voting. Since codifying pandemic-era voting methods like vote-by-mail and expanded early voting into law, about 13% of residents have applied to vote by mail and over 25% of those ballots have already been returned.
Voters must apply to vote by mail in this election by 5 p.m. Monday, August 29th and must be registered to vote by Saturday, August 27th. Offices for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and state auditor are all on the ballot this year.
